The Story Behind Sweet Vale Creations by Laine Beach

Starting in late 2021, Sweet Vale Creations was under a different name. Between then and now, we have been in business under You Are More Creations and SoySoothing before we settled on Sweet Vale Creations. The name comes from being tied in with the Sweet Vale of Avoca, where the business is run. I started our candle business because we wanted to create safe and natural candle products for our family. It was also a way to bring out a creative side and function as another source of income for my family. Since starting the business, we have grown so much and have added more products each year we are in business. While running the small business, I am also working on my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health counseling. There has always been a desire to help people in whatever way is needed. Interaction with customers at craft fairs and creating custom products helps fill the need of wanting to help someone. While it is not as hands-on as being in the nursing field that I was initially starting, listening to people’s stories and talking about their likes and dislikes brings joy I would not have imagined. One of my favorite memories was from a customer I had met at a craft show. As she smelled the scent 'Cabin in the Woods,' she was almost in tears because it brought back memories of her family going to her grandparent’s cabin during the holidays. That was a big reason we created our business: to help bring memories alive. Each of our scents has a story and memory that is associated with it, and I even share each one. Earlier this year, we expanded our business and created custom breastmilk and cremation jewelry. While some people are unsure of it, others love the idea. Sweet Vale Creations is about the memories, connections, and hard work it takes to feed a child; I wanted to create something for moms to remember their challenging breastfeeding journey. Even creating pieces that help people remember their loved ones who have passed is an honor I get to create for them. It has been a long, hard journey to create my business while being a mom and full-time student, but it is something that I am passionate about, and I enjoy sharing my talents with others. I hope you find as much love in my products as I love creating them!
